UNDERSTANDING THE FATHER'S HEART
The Father embraces us in affection.
One of our greatest needs is to have the assurance that He enjoys us even in our weakness.
The Father pursues us to share His heart with us.
He wants to break the spirit of shame and despair in us.
The Father is our greatest cheerleader.
The Father knows our weakness.
Psalms 103:14
"For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."
The Father is patient with us.
Romans 2:4
"Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"
The Father plans and provides for our good.
Hebrews 12:6-10
"For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives.
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?
But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons.
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
For truly they chastened us for a few days according to their own pleasure, but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness."
2 Corinthians 12:14
"Children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children."
Matthew 6:32
"For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."
The Father wants partnership with His children.
The Father calls us forth because He alone knows our potential and His plans for us.
Revelation 2:17
"I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."
The Father trains us without shaming us.
1 Thessalonians 2:11
"We exhorted, comforted, and charged every one…as a father does his children."
1 Corinthians 4:14
"I do not write these things to shame you, but as…beloved children I warn you."
Colossians 3:21
"Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged."
Ephesians 6:4
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."
The Father shall reveal His heart to His children.
Revelation 22:4
"They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads."
Revelation 14:1
"Having His Father's name written on their foreheads."
The vast majority of the human family has had deeply negative experiences with their earthly father.
Most have not experienced the tender touch of a loving father.
Question:
What will compel you to seek a new revelation of God the Father?
